Rida Cabanilla Arakawa is an entrepreneur, registered nurse, veteran with combined 22 years of services with the Army National Guard, Active-duty Army, and retired with the Army Reserves. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

She retired as a State Representative in 2022 after fourteen years. This is a job she enjoyed very much and believed she can continue to make a difference. Her multifaceted life history of transformations, conversions, and exposures gives her vision and furtherance of understanding and resolution of complexities of issues thrown to that of a legislator.


In her years at the House of Representatives, she always held a leadership position such as Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Chairwoman on the Committee on Housing for 3 terms, and

Chairwoman on The International Affairs Committee. She passed multiple meaningful make sense legislation. Obtained appropriations, neighborhood and planned community laws such as flying old glory in houses and condos.


As a health care provider, her urgent was on the front line of covid testing during the entire pandemic. Her medical diagnostic company in Waipahu has been in existence for 26 years charging community rate.


She opened the Nursing School at Leeward Community College, work on obtaining raises for Care Homes and Foster Homes. Wrote a resolution for nursing testing in Manila.


She wants to continue serving because this is a job she enjoys, experience, and vision on what needs to be done as we go forward.

She stands for political balance, family values, parental rights, shared parenting, better access between West Oʻahu and town, job protection, and lowering the cost of living. Her campaign is focused on common sense solutions that put residents first and help Hawaii matter no matter which party is in power.
